For the first time in the history of #FEST, Prime Social Group is introducing a Friday Welcome event that’s stacked with an irresistible lineup. Those already planning on attending the pre-game madness are probably aware they get to experience hot acts like Big Gigantic, NGHTMRE, Lil Uzi Vert, and Moosh & Twist. One act they may not be aware of is the trio from Columbus named Ghost Gardens.
Ghost Gardens is a collaborative project between Columbus turntablist DJ Ginsu, MBFP founder Nick Reed, and drummer Carlos Fisher. While they just started playing together less than one year ago, they’ve opened for an array of impressive talent including Slander, Mat Zo, Jauz, Ghastly, Feed Me, and Mija. Ghost Gardens also has a number of big shows lined up for the remainder of the year. Besides their upcoming #FEST performance they will play alongside Zomboy, Infected Mushroom, Illenium, and Doctor P at their monthly Leboom event held at Skully’s Music Diner in Columbus.
One thing that contributes to their killer live performances is that each member has a unique skill set to offer. Carlos Fisher is the drummer and percussionist that gives the group a unique sound that really gets a crowd moving. DJ Ginsu serves as the arranger and knows how to scratch a record. Ginsu is also a decorated mixing master and has acquired countless regional titles in DJ competitions. Nick Reed, also well known as Carma, is the primary curator for Ghost Gardens. According to Ginsu he’s also “the glue that holds the group together”.
When asked why they were looking forward to play #FEST for the first time:
“Because it IS our first time, we want to make some new friends and get loud. Add the honor of playing alongside some acts we admire at a monster party, no one in the group had to think twice.” – DJ Ginsu
