Hip-hop beats + Broadway vocals + Karaoke? Yes. Just yes.
Everyone loves Karaoke. This past year, the hip-hop influenced Broadway musical “Hamilton” has been everywhere. From a live performance back at the Grammy’s in February (which earned an impressive win for “Best Musical Theater Album”), the cast of Hamilton has recently performed for the President while grabbing 11 awards at the Tony awards on CBS.This past week, the man of the hour and creator of the play Lin-Manuel Miranda, stopped by the Late Late Show with James Corden to participate in the virally popular segment “Carpool Karaoke”. The segment doesn’t disappoint with the opening number “Alexander Hamilton” playing through the vehicle while the duo raps through cadences and sings like you would when you’re with your friends…..with swag!
The ride get even more theatrical when actors Audra McDonald, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jane Krakowski join the fray and sang tunes from Rent, Les Miserables and other classics. Broadway & Hip-Hop fans rejoice! This one is for all of you.
