A progressive house prodigy by the name of MIMO has taken the Beatport charts by storm. His latest EP, THE YEAR, dropped late August of this year. Not to mention, it quickly made its way to the #3 spot on Beatport’s Top 100 Progressive House Releases. This Cleveland based artist is no newbie to the charts.

First, in March of 2015, his debut album Generation hit #12 on the iTunes Top 200 Electronic Albums. Next, in August of 2015, his EP Impulse took the #21 spot on the Beatport’s Top 100 Progressive House Releases. Lastly, his latest achievement being the #3 spot on the Beatport list. MIMO also won Cleveland Scene Magazine’s Best DJ in 2014 for best House DJ and in 2016 for overall artistry.

THE YEAR is a five-track EP of original mixes off the record label System Recordings. Listen here:

MIMO has played festival sets at Life in Color and spun at different venues throughout Ohio. Furthermore, he’s also been direct support for some of dance music’s greats including Alesso,  Carnage, Krewella, Sander van Doorn and Steve Aoki. We got the inside scoop on what he’s been up to since the release!

On His Beatport Chart Success…

It’s an incredible experience/feeling being on the Beatport charts!  Been working very hard to get my music to the next level and it’s great to start seeing the results. I don’t measure my success on those charts but it is a nice feeling to have so many people like my music and continue to support me.

On How He Finds Success In A Fast-Paced Industry…
It’s changed a lot and is very difficult. I didn’t understand the industry and all the in’s and out’s, but I’ve definitely learned something new with each release. It’s tough to be a new artist in an already saturated market; I continue to try and get my music out to as many channels and outlets as possible (like Life Backstage).

On What’s Next…
I have a lot of stuff coming up for the remaining part of 2016, including a release set for October!
