While the Internet is just beginning to buzz over RL Grime’s newly released “Aurora”, our boy NGHTMRE has already one-upped every news hungry EDM blog and remixed it.
Taken by fan and fellow artist AYJAY and posted onto a private “Trap Fiend” Facebook page on April 20, we can confirm it’s from NGHTMRE’s Michigan show last night at the Wild Bull in Kalamazoo with Prime Social Group. The video is of much higher quality than most club shots are (screaming fans and one-too-many red bull vodkas tend to create shotty scenes but a damn good time), resulting in a remix majorly murdered by the emergent artist.
NGHTMRE brings his “Street” cred with chopped and screwed micro-drops to the already atmospheric single RL Grime released just earlier in the week. But wait…there’s more. Tyler, the bad dream with big dreams, already released his FREE mix!
While the #Fest headliner and creator of bad dreams and mad beats has collaborated with Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis and other headliners often causing mega-mayhem, an RL Grime collab has not happened yet. Here’s to hoping this could be the catalyst for one.RL supported NGHTMRE from early on while the love was reciprocated. In a Run The Trap interview April 15, the delightfully dirty and distorted bass artist shared the “Aurora” artist is one of his biggest influences.
“Aurora”, named after the natural phenomenon of electric lights seen in the sky, is what we imagine a sick rave featuring a laser show scaled to Eric Prydz liking to look like. The anthemic, and in some parts overwhelming, RL Grime release captures that other worldly sound in addition to the video shot with a GoPro attached to a weather balloon. UFO sighting anyone?
